Day 2: Colombo - Trincomalee

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the beautiful east coast city of Trincomalee. The journey takes you across the island's heartland. Upon arrival, check into your beachside resort and spend the evening relaxing by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Day 3: Trincomalee - Sigiriya

In the morning, you have the option to visit Pigeon Island National Park for fantastic snorkeling or simply relax on the famous Nilaveli or Uppuveli beaches. In the afternoon, proceed to the heart of the Cultural Triangle, Sigiriya.

Day 4: Sigiriya

Today you will conquer the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an ancient palace and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Climb to the top to see the ancient frescoes and enjoy stunning 360-degree views. In the afternoon, experience a traditional village tour or opt for a wildlife safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park to see the famous elephant gathering (seasonal).

Day 5: Sigiriya - Kandy

After breakfast, travel towards Kandy. En route, visit the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, with its stunning collection of Buddha statues and rock paintings. You'll also stop at a spice garden in Matale to learn about the fragrant spices that made Sri Lanka famous. Arrive in Kandy, the last royal capital.

Day 6: Kandy

Explore the city of Kandy. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses a revered relic of the Lord Buddha. Stroll through the lush Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya and later, witness a vibrant cultural dance show in the evening.

Journey into Sri Lanka's stunning hill country. The scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya, also known as 'Little England', will take you past cascading waterfalls and rolling hills. Visit a tea plantation and factory to see how the world-famous Ceylon Tea is made, and enjoy a fresh cup while soaking in the views.

Day 8: Nuwara Eliya - Ella

Prepare for a highlight of your trip: the breathtaking train journey from Nanu Oya (near Nuwara Eliya) to Ella. This ride is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in the world, taking you through misty mountains, dense forests, and picturesque tea estates. Your driver will meet you at the Ella station.
