Board the train from Nanu Oya station for one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world. You will wind through tea plantations and mountains before arriving in the backpacker paradise of Ella. Visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge and enjoy the laid-back mountain vibe.
Leave the "Land" behind and head towards the "Sea." Descend from the hills, stopping at the stunning Ravana Falls. Drive south to the historic city of Galle. Check into your hotel and enjoy your first sunset by the Indian Ocean.
Spend the day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Galle Fort. Walk along the 17th-century ramparts, visit the lighthouse, and browse the charming boutique shops on Pedlar Street. You can also visit the nearby Unawatuna Beach for a swim.
Drive north along the scenic coastline to Bentota. En route, you can visit a Sea Turtle Hatchery to see conservation efforts in action. Arrive in Bentota, famous for its broad golden beaches and calm waters.
A full day dedicated to the "Sea." Bentota is the water sports capital of Sri Lanka. You can go jet-skiing, banana boating, or take a romantic boat safari on the nearby Madu River to explore the mangroves. Or, simply relax by the pool with a cocktail.
After a leisurely breakfast, drive further north to Negombo. This vibrant fishing town is close to the airport and offers a great mix of culture and beach life. Explore the Dutch canals or visit the bustling fish market.
Enjoy a final Sri Lankan breakfast. Your guide will transfer you to the airport (just 20 minutes away) for your departure flight, carrying memories of both the green hills and the blue sea.
