Ayubowan and welcome to Sri Lanka! Your personal guide will greet you at the airport. You'll drive directly to the heart of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, Dambulla. Check into your hotel and relax after your journey.
This morning, you will visit and climb the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 5th-century UNESCO World Heritage site. Marvel at the ancient frescoes and the lion's paw entrance, and take in the breathtaking panoramic views from the summit. In the afternoon, you have the option to go on a thrilling 4x4 safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, renowned for hosting the largest gathering of Asian elephants in the world (seasonal).
After breakfast, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a complex of five caves filled with over 150 stunning Buddha statues and rock paintings. Afterwards, proceed to Kandy, the last royal capital. En route, stop at a traditional Spice Garden in Matale. In the evening, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, followed by a vibrant cultural show.
Begin your day with a visit to the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya (optional). Then, enjoy a spectacular scenic drive into the central highlands towards Nuwara Eliya, the 'Little England' of Sri Lanka. You'll wind through green valleys, passing waterfalls like Ramboda Falls. Stop at a working tea plantation and factory to learn how the famous Ceylon Tea is made.
Today you will experience one of the highlights of your trip. Your guide will drive you to the Nanu Oya railway station for the famous train ride to Ella. This journey is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, taking you through misty mountains, dense forests, and picturesque tea estates. Your guide will meet you at the Ella station and transfer you to your hotel.
A full day to explore the charming highland village of Ella. In the morning, take an easy hike to the top of Little Adam's Peak to enjoy stunning views of the Ella Gap. Afterwards, walk to the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, a marvel of colonial-era engineering, and watch a train pass over it. The rest of the day is free to relax.
After breakfast, begin your descent from the cool highlands to the warm, tropical coast. You'll make a brief stop at the Ravana Falls, a beautiful waterfall linked to local mythology, before continuing your journey south. Arrive in the beach resort town of Bentota and check into your hotel for two nights of relaxation by the sea.
Your day is completely free to relax and enjoy the sun. Unwind on the golden sands, swim in the Indian Ocean, or take part in the many activities Bentota has to offer. Optional activities include a boat safari on the Madu River through mangrove forests or engaging in thrilling water sports like jet-skiing and windsurfing.
Enjoy a final morning at the beach. In the afternoon, drive north along the coast to Colombo, Sri Lanka's vibrant capital city. You'll take a city tour covering key landmarks like Independence Square, the Gangaramaya Temple, and the bustling Pettah markets for some last-minute souvenir shopping.
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will drive you to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in time for your departure flight, filled with wonderful memories of Sri Lanka.
